The General Advocacy project is in place to provide older people with a voice. For many and varied reasons, older people need a third party to speak on their behalf to ensure that they are obtaining their full rights as citizens. They may feel unsure of their rights; be lacking in confidence; be physically unable to speak or simply not know who they should approach. We have dealt with a wide range of advocacy cases over the past five years. Some of these have been concerned with utility companies, local council, GP surgeries, hospitals, catalogues, housing associations and social services.
